GV II*

Farmhouse. Early C17 with later C17 and C20 additions. Squared coursed limestone
with coped gables. C20-tile and stone-slate roofs with stone ridge and end
stacks. T-shaped plan. 2 storeys plus attic; 3-window range of C18 and C19 two-
and 3-light casements with wood lintels to front. C17 plank door with decorative
strap hinges and ovolo-moulded wood surround in left gable end. 2 ovolo-moulded
wood mullioned windows to first floor of left facade. Long C17 range extending
to rear with barn attached to end by C20 cottage infill. C20 plank doors. Rear
of house has 2 further C17 wood plank doors, one with decorative strap hinges.
Interior: stone flagged ground floors. Plank and moulded-muntin partitions
throughout ground floor. Plank and moulded-muntin doors. Large open fireplace
with ovolo-moulded bressumer with ogee stops. Further open fireplace with
chamfered bressumer and ogee stops. Ovolo-moulded spine beam, and double
ovolo-moulded beams. Chamfered beams with ogee stops. Dog-leg staircase rising
to attics within plank and moulded-muntin well. Plank and moulded-muntin
partitions in first floor, with plank and moulded-muntin doors. Small open
fireplaces with ovolo-moulded bressumer. Trenched-purlin roof with collars. C17
timber partitions and C17 plank doors. Barn of 3 bays has queen strut roof.
Purlins replaced.
