Early C19 recasing of probably earlier timber frame. 3 storeys upper
floors hung with mathematical tiles. No 26 has low pitch hipped slate roof,
No 28 has low pitch hipped old tile roof. Flat moulded eaves. One window
each. No 26 has marginal glazed French window with wood surround and plain
entablature on 2nd floor giving on to balcony with wrought iron rails, key
pattern ornament. Rectangular bay window to centre 1st floor with marginal
glazing pilaster frame and entablature. Similar balcony to that on 2nd floor
extending either side. Ground floor has later Cl9 shop front door set well
back. Flanking pilasters, thin mullions and transom to plate glass windows.
No 28 has recessed sash windows with marginal glazing to centre of 1st and
2nd floors. Ground floor forms entry to Odeon Cinema.

Nos 26 to 40 (even) and Nos 46 to 54 (even) form a group.
