Probably circa 1797 and after. Two storeys (formerly 3 as result of Victorian
enlargement). Country villa reducer from Victorian castellated mansion and
extended in Georgian style 1965 (see rainwater heads). Ashlar with band over
ground floor and chamfered quoins. Parapet and moulded coping. Centre balustraded
with flanking urns. Concealed slate roof.
East front: 3 bays with slight centre break and glazing bar sash windows. Centre
first floor window has moulded architrave, ground floor side windows have moulded
architraves and cornices. Central solid portico with tripartite pillar arrangement
and glazed doorway (replaces Ionic portico in antis now on north front).
North front retains 2 storey bow with balustraded parapet to left. This has
been repeated (1965) to the right with a 3 bay section between which has 4
column Ionic portico in antis (from garden front).
Rainwater heads marked B (for Barker).

Interior a very pleasant Georgian pastiche with oval top-lit stair hall. South-east
room retains original decoration.
