House, mid-late C17. Set back from street. Pebbledashed stone
rubble with squared stone quoins and window dressings. Hipped and
sprocketed slate roof with 3 flat-roofed dormers. Gables to rear.
2 storey with attic and cellar. Double pile plan with 1 bay hipped
central rear extension. Stacks removed. Elevation symmetrical, 5
bays, central 6-panel door up 3 steps in moulded doorcase. Pediment
carried on acanthus consoles. C19 8-pane sashes to ground floor,
margin-glazed sashes above. Wide moulded eaves.
Interior: central stair hall and good stair with 2 turned
balusters to each tread and heavy handrail, 3 x 2-panelled
bolection moulded doors to first floor.
Building reputed to be associated with the wool trade.
