GV II

House and attached outbuildings, c1840, remodelled c1880, for
Horatio Nelson Goddard. Brick with stone dressings, stone slate
roof. Main block has symmetrical elevations with entrance on
south. Stone mullioned windows with timber paned casements.
Slated porch, corbelled oriel over entrance and within bargeboarded
gable. Projecting bays to east, also gabled, with Goddard arms in
panel. Flush stone quoins. Tiled rear wing. Brick chimneys with
stone heads. A well designed building forming an important adjunct
to the church of St. Michael (q.v.).
