Former rectory, c1830, ashlar with low-pitched slate eaves roofs and ashlar ridge stack. Two storeys with two-window front of twelve-pane sashes. Raised ashlar angle strips, plinth and eaves band. Two window east end with blank window to first floor left and door with hood on consoles to ground floor right. One window north end addition, the south front set back from main front, with similar angle piers, plinth and eaves band. Rear wing, originally one window, extended to two-window.
The Rev R. Kilvert became Rector of Hardenhuish 1835 and the diarist Francis Kilvert was born here 1840, the family moved, in 1855.
