SU 09 SW MINETY ASKEW BRIDGE

4/111 Askew Bridge House

GV II


Detached house. Early C18 core with late C18 addition. Rubble to
core range, squared and coursed dressed stone with blocked ashlar
dressings to south addition; stone slate roof to core range, Welsh
slates with ashlar copings and end ashlar stacks to addition.
Three-storey, 3-window south front. Windows are 16-pane sashes set
in deep reveals. Central round-arched doorway with 6-panel door, 2
top lights and spoked fanlight. First and second floor platbands.
The house derives its name from the close proximity of an askew
railway bridge.
