Farmhouse. Late C16-early C17 with later alterations. Squared and
coursed rubble with stone dressings, oak mullions and lintels,
ashlar copings and double Roman concrete tile roof (formerly
pantiles); tall paired lateral stone stack, one end stone stack
with brick cap and rear brick stack. Cruciform in plan with gabled
ends to each wing. Two storeys and attics, each wing of l-bay
width. South elevation has blocked windows to upper floors and C19
casements to ground floor, but east and north facades have
chamfered oak cross-mullions, that to ground floor on east front of
8 lights. Doorway in angle on south front with panelled C19 door,
rectangular fanlight and lean-to porch with latticework posts.
Moulded plinth, stepped copings to gables with crocketed pinnacles
at apexes.
Interior Original deep-chamfered beams and stud partitions
survive in all rooms; several Tudor-arched fireplaces with later
moulded mantels. The house, both interior and exterior, was in a
very poor state of repair at the time of resurvey (July 1986).
