Early C19 front to older site; built for William Whitaker, a wealthy clothier.
2 storey and attic. Bath stone. Projecting plinth. Band at 1st floor level and
sill string; moulded cornice to parapet with moulded coping. Asbestos slate roof
with off ridge brick chimney and 3 dormers. Slight central break with pediment.
Glazing bar sash windows, 5 on 1st floor, 4 on ground flow. Central 6 panel door,
upper panels glazed, in stone doorcase of architrave, plain outer surround and
cornice on console brackets. Panelled frieze between brackets. Conical fluted
lead rainwater head to right. Rounded corner to right, of English bond brickwork,
gable attic light with plain stone band over. The interior somewhat dismantled
as offices and warehouse, but retains square oak staircase. The courtyard at the
rear now covered in.
